REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Superintendent
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: New teachers 186 days; Returning teachers 185 days with benefits provided according to the Teacher’s Negotiated Agreement.

Key Responsibilities:
?? Design and deliver engaging lessons in literature, writing, grammar, and speaking/listening
skills
?? Cultivate student voice through writing workshops, presentations, and authentic learning
opportunities
?? Inspire appreciation for diverse texts, authors, and perspectives
?? Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and integrate cross-curricular themes
?? Prepare students for success in college, careers, and beyond by building strong reading and
writing foundations
?? Optional: Contribute to co-curricular activities such as speech, drama, or journalism based on
interests

Requirements:
?? Hold or be eligible for a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with endorsement in English
Language Arts (Grades 9–12)
?? Strong communication and classroom management skills
